Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Eastern Shore

Matches adult mentors to children in single parent homes.  In school & business-based mentoring programs also available.

Catholic Charities/Seton Center

Individual, couple, family counseling and crisis help as well as case management and a variety of emergency food distribution and social service programs for economically disadvantaged families.

Chesapeake Housing Mission, Inc.

Provides vital housing repairs, including wheelchair ramps, for low-income families.

Coastal Hospice

Hospice & Palliative care and critical support services for terminally ill patients and their families.  24 hour emergency service.  

Del-Mar-Va Council, Boy Scouts of America

Educational, recreational and leadership programs for boys ages 6-17.  Programs emphasize character development, citizenship training, and personal fitness. 

Delmarva Discovery Center

Museum interpreting the natural and cultural heritage of Delmarva through exhibits and educational programs for adults and children. 

Delmarva Community Services 

Specialized transportation for seniors and individuals with developmental disabilities, veterans services, emergency food distribution programs, a men’s homeless shelter, Meals on Wheels for Dorchester, and casemanagement for economically disadvantaged families.

Emergency shelter, transitional housing, food pantry, case management and homeless prevention services for veterans and people in crisis. 

Dove Pointe

Social services, vocational training, behavior intervention, physical and speech therapy for individuals who have developmental disabilities and children with autism.

Year round academic enrichment program for at-risk children. Program includes year round tutoring and mentoring, as well as a summer enrichment camp for youth K – 8 grade in Wicomico county.

Employment services for individuals with Disabilities, including job training & development, lifeskills coaching, job placement & coaching.

Conflict resolution and mediation services for students, teachers and families within Dorchester County Public Schools.

Providing home delivered, nutritionally specialized meals for critically ill individuals of any age.

One Year to Empowerment

Mentoring and enrichment program, active primarily during the school year, for middle & high school girls, offering monthly activities, volunteering and more to empower girls to build self-esteem for health, balanced lives

Positive Strides Therapeutic Riding Center

Equine-assisted therapy for those whith special physical or developmental needs and trauma victims. Serving youth and adults throught the Lower Shore from their riding center in Preston, MD.

Recovery Resource Center

A meeting support center for individuals recovering from alcohol and drug abuse.  Open every day.  

Salisbury Urban Ministries

Youth and family outreach, including the Kids’ Café after school & summer program, God’s Kitchen providing weekly meals, Lazarus Food Pantry, Prescription assistance and Saturday Mens’ Welcome  Center for homeless men.   

Samaritan Ministries, Inc.

Provides help in crisis situations by providing temporary housing for men, women and families, and supportive services enabling clients to achieve self sufficiency. Soup kitchen and food pantry.

Somerset Committee for the Homeless

Provides assistance for those in crisis including emergency housing for men, women and families at the Lower Shore Shelter in Princess Anne, MD. Offers case management and life skills training. 

Somerset Community Services

Day activity center, educational, pre-vocational, and recreational services for mentally and developmentally disabled adults. 

The Salvation Army – Cambridge 

Youth enrichment programs, Senior program, nightly soup kitchen, and homeless shelter for individuals & families, with comprehensive case management.

The Salvation Army Lower Eastern Shore

Emergency assistance for those in crisis, food pantry, youth centers, sports and recreational programs, after school and tutoring programs, and senior citizen social activities.

Transitional shelter for women & children with comprehensive case management.

Wicomico Public Libraries

Provides information services including library materials, free internet access, programs and classes for all ages, and public meeting spaces. Offers Project READ, an adult literacy program. 

Worcester County Developmental Center

Educational, social, vocational, and residential programs for adults with developmental and physical disabilities.

Worcester Youth & Family Counseling

Professional counseling services at subsidized costs for individuals, couples, and families; Court Appointed Special Advocate; SAGES /SABERS youth program for middle schoolers; Family Connections resource center.

YMCA of the Chesapeake

Provides recreation, physical fitness, and wellness programs for all ages. Includes facilities in Salisbury, Pocomoke City and Cambridge. Offers LiveSTRONG program to support individuals with cancer.
