Emerging Leaders

The mission of the Emerging Leaders of the Lower Eastern Shore is to promote and encourage the spirit of philanthropy and volunteerism among young professionals in Wicomico, Worcester, Somerset and Dorchester Counties. Our efforts are focused on Lower Eastern Shore’s children and youth. It is our belief that the best way to invest in the future of Wicomico, Worcester, Somerset and Dorchester Counties is to invest in our youngest residents.

We’re all about making positive and long-lasting change on the Eastern Shore. Through professional development, educational opportunities, volunteerism and networking events, this Emerging Leaders group has the end goal to change the odds for families and communities by advancing education, housing, employment and health.

The Christmas in July event is brought to you by the Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce Young Professionals and United Way of the Lower Eastern Shore Emerging Leaders in partnership with the Ocean City Young Professionals and Ocean Pines Young Professionals.

A great opportunity to network with local young professionals while catching a Shorebirds game and creating an impact for families on the Lower Eastern Shore!

Thank you to the Delmarva Shorebirds, our Young Professionals friends and everyone who came out on July 31, 2024! Special thank you to our sponsors who can see  HERE!

Xmas in July 2022

UWLES Emerging Leaders are so thankful for our wonderful community leaders that made our 2023 Thanksgiving Basket initiative such a great success.

Together we delivered meals to 26 families, in 7 towns across 3 counties. Special thanks to TidalHealth, Your Doc's In and Perdue for providing the meals and the Young Professionals from Junior Achievement of the Eastern Shore, and McCrone Hartwell Engineering Salisbury Office for making all the deliveries!

Last year's 2023 Secret Santa program organized by our Emerging Leaders helped provide a Happy Holidays for kids on the Lower Eastern Shore.

With much help from volunteers, including Wicomico County Public Schools , Worcester County Public Schools MD, Somerset County Public Schools and Dorchester County Public Schools, Pepsi, McCrone, Walmart, Avery Hall Insurance Group, Bless Our Children WBOC TV 16 Delmarva's News Leader, Shore Gives More of Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore, and SVN, we were able to provide presents for 116 children from 39 families in seven towns across the shore!

Thanks to all who helped make this possible!
