Hello, friends! We’re excited to welcome Spring and engage in ways to safely be TOGETHER! Our passion for a healthier and stronger community drives our work and there’s many positive things to share.
We continue to combine forces with community partners to meet changing needs, bring resources to vulnerable neighbors, and help nonprofits with grants from the LIVE UNITED Response Fund. Volunteers are helping frame United Way’s next several years through a vigorous Strategic Planning process, led by BEACON at Salisbury University. The Community Impact Committee is preparing to review annual funding requests. And, as you’ll read inside, Women United and Student United Way have been busy.
Did you know April was National Volunteer Month? Nonprofits, including UWLES, rely on volunteers to fulfill our mission and create impact. THANK YOU to everyone who steps up for UWLES and our community! As a reminder, opportunities are available year-round with many nonprofits at www.ShoreGetConnected.org.
This issue provides updates on some of our programs, upcoming events & ways to get involved. We hope you’ll join us - online or in person as conditions allow. And if you’re able, please consider a gift to UWLES, to continue support for 1 in 3 Lower Shore neighbors. You can give online anytime at www.uwles.org/donate, by texting TOGETHER to 26989, or by mailing a gift. Every dollar adds up and makes a local difference, because Together, We LIVE UNITED.
