Help Keep Food on the Table for Lower Shore Families
The LIVE UNITED Response Fund supports local nonprofits providing food and essential services to our neighbors on the Lower Shore. Thanks to the generosity of Perdue Farms and anonymous donors, we’re starting with $15,000, investing immediately in nonprofit, school, and college pantries beginning the week of November 3. Perdue is also matching $5,000 in community gifts— so your donation goes even further!
Even before the federal shutdown, local partners were seeing rising needs—especially around food insecurity. Now, with reduced SNAP distributions and increased costs for essentials, the challenge is even greater.
Nearly 50% of households in our region are ALICE®—working families, seniors, single parents, and neighbors with disabilities—struggling to make ends meet. Over 40,000 local neighbors rely on SNAP each month to help stretch their budgets.
