It’s Thankful Thursday! We are incredibly grateful to all OC establishments participating in this year’s Dine, Stay and Play United program and to all patrons who visit and engage with specials associated with the program. For a list of participants and their specials please visit www.uwles.org/dinestayplayunited.
When you participate in the program, proceeds go to @UWLES. What does that mean? That means YOU are investing in your community. UWLES is a local nonprofit and top funder for area nonprofit organizational programs in education, health, and financial stability. Our direct programs and the programs we help to fund provide direct impact to 1 in 3 neighbors residing in Worcester, Wicomico, Dorchester, and Somerset counties. In the 2019–2020-year over $370,000.00 was invested into the Worcester County through 33 partner agencies and 57 funded programs, impacting 49% of the Worcester County population. Programs like Critical Home Repair from Chesapeake Housing Mission; Compass, Palliative and Hospice Programs by Coastal Hospice; Emergency Shelters and food assistance, homeless prevention and rapid rehousing from Diakonia; Adolescent programs, special advocates and mental health counseling by Worcester Youth & Family Services; Emergency Financial Assistance for basic needs by Worcester G.O.L.D.; Disability Day Services by Worcester County Developmental Center and the Imagination Library program from UWLES.
Thank you to our community for supporting UWLES through the Dine, Stay and Play United program and in countless other ways from volunteering to advocating. Thank you to our participants who value our mission, collaborate, and TOGETHER foster an environment of giving back to local neighbors in need. Thank you to our nonprofit partner agencies who tirelessly work in our communities and with UWLES in our mission to create and enhance opportunities for making a positive and lasting impact in Education, Financial Stability and Health for all.
